Quaint little place not too far from Muir Woods. We went there after the hike. I love the grilled fish tacos, my husband loves his tofu tostadas. Staff were friendly.

Fun and authentic the staff are good. The food is homemade and delicious. The prices are the best can't get a better deal. Highly recommended. I give him five stars.

Not familiar with this area, we looked for Mexican restaurants on Google maps, and drove to Joe's. Did not know what to expect, but were pleased to find a solid well-accepted restaurant--not a run down hole in the wall! As vegetarians, we were happy to see many options on the menu marked as vegetarian, as well as many more that were actually vegetarian but not named "vegetarian." A particular surprise was the number of choices with fried tofu instead of some meat. Now, we're used to that in places with Tai food, but had never seen it in Mexican venues. So had to try one. I really like fried tofu, and my tostada was fine, but next time I think I'll save the tofu for Tai food and vegie burgers! It just was not quite the flavors my head was expecting for Mexican food! Our waiter was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Lots of salsa choices. We enjoyed our lunch. Recommended.

The ambiance and service are wonderful. They now even make their own taco sauce. Yay for that. I've been going here since it opened. If Anthony Bourdain was alive and was heading over the hill to get oysters, and happened upon Joe's, I could see him sitting at the counter and eating carnitas. Bars me dreaming. I used to love the tofu tostada. Then quarantine hit and I had to get it to go. It was mushy and boring. In person it's delicious. Just not to go. Who can resist a negro modelo and huevos rancheros on a Wednesday night? Head next door to the deuce to watch a game or play some pool. Joe's is not Marin County bougie. Prices are Marin but if they weren't then it would be there. Support Joes!

I have been coming to this small funky restaurant for years. I used to bring my kids here too and that really like that. This is set in what looks like an old diner by the way the seating is it has a pretty solid menu of normal Mexican favorites, but the quality is good as in items like fish tacos, which use snapper instead of that cheap Farms tilapia one kind of unique thing about this place is the walls are covered in many bottles of salsa for you to get up and go and take to use on your food also all of the Mexican religious artifacts of candles, etc., on the walls which add to the unique vibe this place I recommend it

We ordered take out on recommendation of our host and the carnitas tacos were simply delicious. My husband loved his fish tacos and my daughter's cheese quesadillas were a bargain at 2 for $6!! Added beer from Safeway. We weren't super hungry so we didn't order a ton of food. Wish we had stayed in town longer to go back or eat more and to eat on their cute patio.

Stopped by Joe's Taco Lounge on a warm afternoon. Open air restaurant is colorful and the bar area is nostalgic. They serve beer, wine and sangria. We started with a Corona and Sangria, and guacamole with tortilla chips. The guacamole was fresh and chips were warm. We split a carnitas burrito stuffed with rice, beans, cheese and a nice amount of pork. Overall we enjoyed both the atmosphere, service and food.

This was my second visit to Joe's, the previous one being almost five years ago. That I remembered it speaks well of the place. Joe's is kind of a dive, with a large horseshoe bar, and a scattering of cramped tables. It feels a bit dated, but that's just the vibe it gives. The menu is a single sheet, double sided, with a fairly large selection of items. I tried the nachos last time, and they were great. This time, I opted for a burrito and some plantains. The plantains were a little sweeter than I like, but that's my preference. The burrito was awesome. It had a good balance between ingredients, with plenty of meat in it. It was well cooked, and deliciously sauced. Service is fast and friendly, too.
